Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support of the Cloverdale Christmas Hamper Program this past season. We are so encouraged and inspired once again to see the community come together to ensure that the most vulnerable among us are cared for.
Because of the generous donations of local schools , businesses, churches and individuals we were able to distribute nearly 500 hampers to over 1000 local residents. That was our biggest year yet!
Each household received several boxes of non-perishable food and toiletries plus a grocery gift card to purchase fresh food. Zinetti Foods was on location once again handing out their delicious frozen lasagnas. Both our ‘toy store’, where parents can select Christmas gifts for their children, and ‘free store’, where hamper recipients can shop for new and gently used clothing, shoes, outerwear and household items, doubled in size this year because of generous donations.
The support of local schools, businesses, churches and individuals also allowed us to offer:
· A free Senior’s Lunch in November where over 120 seniors were served a warm meal and offered a flu vaccination. They were able to apply for a hamper and experience community and connection.
· A Christmas Turkey Dinner on December 23rd to over 250 of our hamper recipients and other members of our community.
We are also grateful for all those who donated their time. We had over 1000 volunteers come through the warehouse to help sort donations and pack hampers. In addition, we had another 250 volunteers help distribute hampers on December 21st.
We look forward to what 2020 holds for our program, learning and growing from this past season and continuing to help those in need within our community. We hope that you will partner with us again!
