Local highschool leadership teacher, Michelle Young, and her leadership students from Salish Secondary school recently took the initiative to put together some "cold weather packages" and dropped them off for our Cold Weather Shelter. They collected donations such as socks, gloves, hygiene items and power bars, and packaged them up into boxes to be distributed to the shelter guests.
Due to the recent stretch of cold weather, the Emergency Shelter has been open continuously for three weeks, and has been operating at its 25 bed capacity. These packages will be one way in which those using the shelter will know they are thought of and cared for by the community.
Thank you Salish Secondary for your continued support!
