The Coldest Night of the Year is a fun, family-friendly walk that helps raise funds for the Cloverdale Community Kitchen which serves the hungry, homeless and hurting people in Surrey, White Rock, and Langley.

We walk in the cold and dark to support all those in our community who are being crushed by struggle, trauma, shame and loneliness. To them - and to the community that witnesses our trek in the dark -- we declare together that “Everybody matters. Everybody belongs. And yes, we need each other.

The Coldest Night of the Year is held on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

We are looking for fundraisers to participate and make a difference in their own community!

This year, participants can choose how they’d like to walk and fundraise:

Virtually: Either individually, or in their team bubbles, participants can choose to walk anytime in February on their own routes close to home.
In-person: We will be hosting a 100% outdoor event where we can come together to walk as a physically distanced group on 2 km or 5 km routes. We will have multiple start times available this year so we will stay under all limit of assembly rules.  Brave the cold and safely celebrate your achievements together (covid-permitting)!

We are hopeful that the current provincial restrictions will ease by February 20th to allow us to hold an in-person, outdoors, and physically distanced Coldest Night of the Year walk! In the event that the restrictions do not allow this, we will not hold an organized event but instead you can walk with your bubble within your own community or, within downtown Cloverdale where some of the local businesses will be handing out some goodies to all CNOY walkers during business hours! In addition, we will be holding a photo scavenger hunt that you can complete during your walk for some awesome prizes! We are 30 days away which is still plenty of time to sign up to walk and fundraise. Did you know that children 12 and under receive a teddy bear for raising $75 or more? Visit www.cnoy.org/surreycloverdale to sign-up, make a donation or find out more information.

Did you know that you can still be involved, even if you can't be here to walk with us on February 20th? Here's how:

1. Join a team (or start one of your own) and fundraise, fundraise, fundraise! Then, walk 5km from wherever you are on February 20th, snap a picture, and send it to us!

2. Donate to a team or individual. Every bit helps! With the growing need caused by COVID-19 we need your support to reach our goal of $100,000.
